Music Swap at St. Leo the Great Church
4940 Broadview Rd, Cleveland
Saturday, Sep 19th
People can bring exra copies of their octavos, etc. to either swap or sell to another church. For example, I have 75-125 copies of some music in the files here at St. Leo's. I have 15 - 20 people in my choir, so there is a lot that I don't need, but perhaps someone else WOULD like and be able to use the extras that I have.
It would be very helpful to receive a confirming phone call from those who are bringing music to trade or sell.
St. Leo office - 216-661-1006
Thanks,
Claudia Woolard

Schubert Concert Series 1007 Superior Avenue Cleveland Ohio 44114-2582 FREE concert; Free secure parking: Cathedral Garage on Rockwell Ave at E 9th Presented in collaboration with the Cleveland Chapter of the American Guild of Organists November 14, 2008 – Friday @ 7:30pm Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir with the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra Tõnu Kaljuste, Director Works by: Pärt, Tüür, Vivaldi (Beatus vir) The ESTONIAN PHILHARMONIC CHAMBER CHOIR was founded in 1981 by Tõnu Kaljuste, who was its artistic director and chief conductor for 20 years. During his tenure the EPCC won three gold medals and was awarded the Grand Prix at the 1991 Takarazuka Chamber Choir Competition in Japan. Since 2001 the choir’s chief conductor and artistic director has been Paul Hillier, the renowned British musician who has widened the choir’s perspectives and continued their success both in the recording field and as a performing group at prominent concert venues and festivals. Although their repertoire is all-encompassing, ranging from Gregorian Chant to the 20 th century, the choir has a close relationship with composers Veljo Tormis and Arvo Pärt, whose music has shared a very special place in the EPCC’s repertoire for many years. In 2007 the EPCC was awarded a Grammy for best choral performance, the culmination of their previous 8-time Grammy nominations. When the EPCC landed in New York for its first North American tour in 1995, they were known only as the performers on the Grammy-nominated, best-selling CD of Arvo Pärt’s, Te Deum . The concerts showed much more - a virtuosic ensemble who could dazzle in everything from Bach to folk songs to works by fellow Scandinavians. Now they return for their 7th tour to perform new works by Arvo Pärt, Vivaldi’s Beatus Vir and more. "…so wondrously talented a group of singers… The selections and the performances were so fine that they left you feeling like an ingrate, greedily hungry for more." (The New York Times, March, 2006). http://www.newworldclassics.com/estonian.htm

The Xavier University Schola Cantorum provides music for the many liturgical events that take place on the Xavier University campus while providing students with foundational experience in liturgy. In addition to maintaining a rigorous schedule of services that outlines the liturgical year, each of the members holds a position of leadership in Xavier University’s music ministry. The Schola Cantorum’s repertoire is intentionally eclectic, and covers a range of sacred music idioms in a variety of languages, from the Renaissance to classical choral repertoire and works from the late 20th century.
Scot Buzza, Director of Liturgical Music at Xavier University (Cincinnati, Ohio), has had an international performing career over the past two decades that includes solo appearances with orchestras in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, The Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland and Venezuela. In 1987 he was appointed principal violist of the Tokyo Philharmonic, and in 1990 he became soloist-principal violist of the Chamber Orchestra of Barcelona, Spain. As a chamber musician Mr. Buzza has performed world wide, and his recitals have been broadcast on Radio France, PBS, Radio Amsterdam, Tokyo NHK and Radio Catalunya (Spain). In the United States he has performed regularly with both the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.
Mr. Buzza is a graduate of Yale University, where he held simultaneous fellowships in both the School of Music and the Department of Slavic Languages and Linguistics. He is currently on the faculty of the Department of Music at Northern Kentucky University, and teaches the Sacred Music curriculum at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Mr. Buzza is Director of Liturgical Music at Xavier University, where he founded and directs three choral ensembles: the Xavier University Schola Cantorum, Harmonia Sacra Xaveriana, and the 10pm Choir.
